May your throne never be overthrown, sons of Asad,

And may you endure as long as the acacia puts forth leaves.

For glory has its birthplace in your homelands,

And the abodes of high honor are with you.

You who give food and thrust with spears when

The spear-shafts rain down and the steady rains fail.

So when your generosity squanders wealth,

You safeguard the neighbor and the pledges of protection.

They swagger in the face of death when

The armored champions quail and the mighty warriors are humbled.

    Standards of glory, not hidden,

And Sayf al-Dawla is their standard.

Jealously he guards glory; from his hand

Come the two supporters, valor and generosity.

To his enemies he is a blazing fire,

And to those seeking his bounty, a cool watering-place.

He brings calamities to life when he resolves,

And destitution dies through his beneficence.

O Ṣadq, may no calamity visit you by night,

And the benevolent God is your refuge.

And may glory rise high through you—the glory whose splendor

The days and nations have borne witness to.
