    And a supple-flanked, yielding one,

    with branches, her hue ash-gray.

A flier, yet kept from ranging far by

her cords, the wall, and the moat.

As though, in bewilderment, she were a seeker

who searches tirelessly, yet never catches up.

a bereaved mother, maddened by her grief.

and lavishes generosity on whoever is gentle.

She holds great sway in her cities,

but is weak if a bare plain embraces her.

By her bounty she transforms the land’s condition:

through her kindness, Siraf becomes Jilliq.

Who can bring me another like her for the one who

has baffled the healer and still does not recover?
