لَحَى اللهُ شخصاً يَرْتضي بمعيشةٍ

لَحَى اللهُ شخصاً يَرْتضي بمعيشةٍ

ذليلاً مهاناً عاجزَ النَّفسِ حائرا

ذليلاً مهاناً عاجزَ النَّفسِ حائرا

May God curse a person content to live

God forbid that one should live a life

Abased, dishonored, weak in spirit, bewildered,

Debased and disgraced, broken in spirit, lost,

مُرجٍّ لِشَخْصٍ كلَّ يومٍ وليلَةٍ

مُرجٍّ لِشَخْصٍ كلَّ يومٍ وليلَةٍ

وربّك ربّ العرش يكفيك ناصرا

وربّك ربّ العرش يكفيك ناصرا

Pinning his hopes on someone every day and night,

Dependent each day and night on another,

While your Lord, the Lord of the Throne, suffices you as a helper.

For your Lord, Lord of the Throne, will aid you as protector.
