حبّ عليٍّ وَبَنِيهِ

حبّ عليٍّ وَبَنِيهِ

الطُّهرِ أَهْلِ الرَّشَدِ

الطُّهرِ أَهْلِ الرَّشَدِ

Love of Ali and his sons,

Love for Ali and his sons,

the pure, the people of right guidance,

the pure, the people of right guidance,

فَرضٌ على كلّ الورَى

فَرضٌ على كلّ الورَى

مِن والدٍ وَوَلَدِ

مِن والدٍ وَوَلَدِ

is a duty upon all creation,

is a duty upon all humankind,

parent and child alike.

father and child alike.

لو أَبْغَضَتْهُمْ مُهْجتي

لو أَبْغَضَتْهُمْ مُهْجتي

أخْرَجتُها من جَسَدي

أخْرَجتُها من جَسَدي

Were my very soul to hate them,

If my soul were to hate them,

I would tear it from my body;

I would remove it from my body.

ولو عَصَتْ فيهمْ يدي

ولو عَصَتْ فيهمْ يدي

أبَنْتَها عَنْ عَضُدي

أبَنْتَها عَنْ عَضُدي

and were my hand to rebel against them,

And if my hand transgressed against them,

I would sever it from my arm.

I would sever it from my upper arm.

هُدىً مِنَ اللهِ ومَنْ

هُدىً مِنَ اللهِ ومَنْ

يَهدي الإِلّهُ يَهتَدي

يَهدي الإِلّهُ يَهتَدي

This is guidance from God; one whom

Guidance from God—and whoever

God guides finds the true path.

God guides is rightly guided.
