Let it suffice you, O you of dusky lips, let it suffice you:
Enough, O bearer of blames, enough
what I have suffered from longing for you.
Of what I have endured because of you

Heal the wasting sickness in my heart that you yourself have caused;
You brought aching sorrows to my heart
for the cure of my sickness is a sip from your mouth.
So cure my illness with a drink from you

I would ransom you! The ardent longings of love have toyed
I sacrifice myself for you after the youthful follies of love’s passion
with me; so be gentle, O my heart’s desire—I would ransom you!
Have toyed with me, so go gently, I implore you

By God, love has left of me nothing but
By God, love has left me with nothing but
a gaunt body or spilled blood.
A frail body and spilled blood
