حييتِ من دِمَنٍ ومن أطلالِ
Deserted remnants on the outskirts of al-ʿAqīq,
With the valleys of al-‘Uqayq as neighbors
hail to you, remnants and ruins!
You have revived me from a ruin and relics
وسَقَتْand may it water سماءُthe sky الشوقِof longing رَبعكَyour dwelling دائماًalways
وسَقَتْ سماءُ الشوقِ رَبعكَ دائماً
بسحائبٍwith clouds منfrom مُقلتيِّmy two eyes ثقالِheavy
بسحائبٍ من مُقلتيِّ ثقالِ
And may the sky of longing forever water your dwelling
The sky of longing has constantly watered your abode
with heavy clouds from my two eyes.
With heavy clouds from my eyelids

By God, how many tears I have spent cheaply over you,
Oh God, how many tears did I shed for your sake
which were precious before parting.
That were before the separation, my treasures
