O son of Harb, you have clothed me in a mantle.

Aches have sickened it, so it is ailing.

So whenever I put it on, it says, “Glory

be to You, reviver of bones though they are dust!”

A mantle that, whenever the wind blows

upon it, creeps over my shoulders.

It reminded me of a verse by Hassan, in which

are burning pangs for the heart whenever I rise:

“Were a yearling from the brood of tiny ants to creep

upon her, the wounds would surely scar her.”
