أَنْتُمْyou (plural) لِعَبْدِكُمُto your servant أَحِبَّهْbeloved ones
وَلَهُand he has عَلَيْكُمْupon you حَقُّa right صُحْبَهْcompanionship
You are your servant's beloved ones,
You are to your servant most beloved
and he has a companion's claim upon you.
And he has a right to your companionship
ياO نَائِمينَsleeping ones عَنِheedless of المُسهَّدِthe sleepless one
O you who sleep, heedless of the sleepless one,
O you who sleep heedless of friendship!
untroubled by love!
Empty of love and desire
وَاللَّهby God ماnot عِنْدِيin my possession مِنَof السُّلْthe first part of 'solace/forgetting'
وَانِthe remaining part of 'solace/forgetting' عَنْكُمْof you وَزْنَthe weight of حَبَّهْa grain
By God, I have no solace
By God, I have no patience with loneliness
in forgetting you—not a grain's weight.
To be without you weighs heavily on my love
قَدْindeed كُنْتُمُyou were أُنْسِيmy comfort فَهَاso here

You were indeed my comfort; so here
You were once my comfort, but now
I am, after you, in an abode of exile.
I am in a land of loneliness after you
لاَmay … not فُرِّجَتْbe dispelled عَنْfrom مُهْجَتِيmy heart

May my heart never be relieved—
My anguish cannot be relieved
if I incline toward forgetting—of any anguish.
If I complain of misery to anyone but you
