فَيَاso, O قَاضِيjudge of القُضَاةِthe judges مَتَىwhen يُوَفِّيhe pays in full

حُقُوقَ صِفَاتِكَ اللَّسِنُ الأَرِيبُ
So, O judge of judges, when will full justice be done
O Judge of judges, when will tongues, however eloquent,

Do justice to Thy attributes sublime?

A youth whose character is as tender as my verse,
A youth whose nature is as gentle as my hair,
he combines two qualities, each wondrous:
Each of whose traits, however viewed, seems strange.

In generosity, there is praise for his nobler side;
His generous acts invite my praise of him,
And in beauty, love poetry for his more delicate side.
His beauty, my comparisons, however faint.
