فَيَاso O شَعْرَهُhis hair هَلْwill ...? فِيكَin you لَيْلِيَmy night يَنْقَضِيcome to an end
وَيَاand O صُبْحَهُhis dawn هَلْis ...? فِيكَin you صُبْحِيmy dawn بَاسِمُsmiling
So, O his hair, will my night come to an end in you?
O night of mine, will you ever end?
And O his dawn, is my dawn smiling in you?
And O dawn of mine, does your smile herald my dawn?
وَياand O طَرْفَهُhis gaze كَيْفَhow السبيلُthe path لِمغْرَمٍfor one enamored
عَلَيْكَof you إلىto وَصْلٍunion وَسَيْفُكَand your sword صارِمُkeen
And O his gaze, what path is there for one enamored
O eyes of mine, how can a lover reach you
Of you to reach union, when your sword is keen?
when your glances are swords that pierce the heart?
تَحَكَّمْrule بِماin whatever تَهْوَىyou desire فَمَاfor ... not أَناI مائِلٌturning away

Rule as you please, for I will not turn away,
Do as you please, for I cannot resist,
Nor can any reproacher turn me from my passionate love for you.
nor can any blame deter me from passion.
وَلِيand I have مُقْلَةٌan eye قَدْhas أَمْطَرmade rain الشَّوْقُlonging سُحْبَهَاits clouds

And I have an eye whose clouds longing has made rain;
My eyes are clouded, longing has rained its clouds,
So its tears accumulate until it sees you.
so that tears on tears pour down without end.
