O his mouth, guarded by an archer of his—

From his gaze, and by a swordsman from his cheek,

And by a pampered one from his temple, and a champion

From his beauty mark, and by a spear-shaft from his stature—

Be gentle with what passion has wrought, for there has come

The cheek-down’s share, endorsed in his reply.
