تَحَقَّرتَ يا وَهبُ في ضَرطَةٍ

تَحَقَّرتَ يا وَهبُ في ضَرطَةٍ

فَأَضحَت أَحاديثُها شائِعَه

فَأَضحَت أَحاديثُها شائِعَه

You made yourself contemptible, O Wahb, with a fart.

You scorned, O Wahb, with a fart

So tales of it became widespread.

So her talks became widespread

وَما سُمِعَت قَبلَها مِثلُها

وَما سُمِعَت قَبلَها مِثلُها

وَقَد راعَهُم صَوتُها رائِعَه

وَقَد راعَهُم صَوتُها رائِعَه

And never before had its like been heard.

And never before was heard its like

And its terrifying sound had frightened them.

Though its voice alarmed them high

فَقالوا وَما أَبعَدوا إِنَّهُ

فَقالوا وَما أَبعَدوا إِنَّهُ

يُضَرِّطُ مِن فَقهَةٍ واسِعَه

يُضَرِّطُ مِن فَقهَةٍ واسِعَه

So they said—and were not far wrong—'Indeed, he

So they said, and not far off

farts from a wide anus.'

It did fart with ample cleft
