O you who reclaim your paltry bounty,
O you who take back little of what you obtain
Is all this out of greed for the ten?
Is all this avarice for the sake of ten?

Did you think wealth lay in it, that you should take it
You thought it was wealth, so you took it
from a poet—or did you think it a penis-head?
From a poet or did you think it was a vineyard?

Take it: it has been transformed
Leave it be, for it circulates
into scorpions scattered throughout the land.
Like scorpions spreading through the lands

Generous to us was he whose servant-boy forever
His lad was always generous to us
plants a carrot at the side of his arse.
Planting carrots on the side of his tent
