يامَوعِداًO promised meeting فاتَpassed unfulfilled فَأَبقىand so left behind الجَوىburning heartache
يامَوعِداً فاتَ فَأَبقى الجَوى
مِنfrom مُخلِفٍa breaker لِلوَعدِof the promise حَلّافِone who swears many oaths

O promised meeting that passed, leaving burning heartache,
O promise broken, burning sorrow remains
From a promise-breaker, forever swearing oaths.
