وَالغَدرُ لَيسَ بِهِ خَفا

My resolve is loyalty to whoever has been loyal.

My resolve is loyalty to one who is loyal

And treachery is no hidden thing.

And betrayal is not hidden within it

صِلني أَصِلكَ فَإِن تَخُن

صِلني أَصِلكَ فَإِن تَخُن

فَعَلى مَوَدَّتِكَ العَفا

فَعَلى مَوَدَّتِكَ العَفا

Keep ties with me, and I will keep ties with you; but if you betray,

Bring us together and if you are unfaithful

Then may dust settle upon your affection.

Then upon your affection is forgiveness
