مُدَبَّجَةَ الأَرجاءِ مَوشِيَّةَ الحَفلِ
I saw the radiant gardens, their blossoms enchanting,
I saw the gardens, their flowers' radiance gleams
Their expanses brocaded, their profusion embroidered.
Adorning the horizons, decked out for the feast

فَنَظَّمَ في أَوراقِها لُؤلُؤَ الطَلِّ
They drank their fill from rings of cloud that had passed by night
They were watered by wandering clouds, spreading
And strung pearls of dew upon their leaves.
Scattering pearls on leaves in threaded rows

بِغُدرانِها غِبَّ المُرَوّي مِنَ الوَبلِ
And fair slave maidens, like statues, had gathered round
The eggs of pregnant doves stare white like tears
Their pools, after the drenching downpour,
Their absent chicks lost in thickets left bereft

يَشُبنَ شَجى الأَلحانِ بِالدَلِّ وَالشَكلِ
Cradling lutes in the splendor of midmorning,
Nests for chicks on boughs in morning's bloom
Blending the melodies’ plaintiveness with coquetry and charm.
Echoing songs of flutes with charm and shape

He is delicate in manner, narrow-waisted and slender,
Slender waist and delicate frame, a fawn
With languid glances that steal wit and reason.
Bewitching gaze, devoid of sense and mind

He sprang from the heights of Hashim, and was raised
Born of Hashim's line, raised to ascend
To the stars in towering glory by the Seal of the Messengers.
To the stars, the glorious seal of messengers
