قَد سَلَّمَ اللَهُ مِنَ الهَجرِ

قَد سَلَّمَ اللَهُ مِنَ الهَجرِ

وَنِلتُ ما آمُلُ بِالصَبرِ

وَنِلتُ ما آمُلُ بِالصَبرِ

God has indeed delivered me from estrangement.

God has released me from estrangement

And through patience I have gained what I hoped for.

And I have attained what I hope for through patience

وَأَشمَتَ اللَهُ بِمَن عابَني

وَأَشمَتَ اللَهُ بِمَن عابَني

أَحوَجَ ما كُنتُ وَما أَدري

أَحوَجَ ما كُنتُ وَما أَدري

And God let me gloat over whoever reproached me,

And God has made wretched those who denounced me

When I was most in need, without my knowing.

When I was most helpless and unaware

في ساعَةِ الخَوفِ أَتَتني المُنى

في ساعَةِ الخَوفِ أَتَتني المُنى

كَذاكَ تَأتي عُقَبُ الدَهرِ

كَذاكَ تَأتي عُقَبُ الدَهرِ

In the hour of fear, my wishes came to me.

In the moment of fear, joy came to me

Thus come the turns of time.

Thus comes the turn of fate

سَأَشكُرُ الصَبرَ وَإِنعامَهُ

سَأَشكُرُ الصَبرَ وَإِنعامَهُ

أَعانَني اللَهُ عَلى الشُكرِ

أَعانَني اللَهُ عَلى الشُكرِ

I shall thank patience and its bounty.

I will thank patience and its blessing

May God help me give thanks.

God has helped me to be grateful
