And when, of a man's years, there have passed
When fifty years have passed for a man
Fifty, and he has not turned away from youthful passion,
And he is no longer swayed by youth

Disgraceful deeds gather around him and say, 'Indeed,
Humiliations crowd him insistently-
You have made us laugh and delighted us—do not leave!'
"You have made us laugh, now depart!"

And when Iblis sees the brightness of his face,
When Iblis sees the foolish innocence on his face
He greets him and says, 'May I be a ransom for one who has not prospered!'
He salutes him- "I sacrifice myself for one who does not succeed!"
