Look at an image: had it known

I look at an image, if only it knew

Whom it resembles, it would not have shown itself to its maker.

تَرى المُلوكَ وُقوفاً حول مالِكِها

وَعِدَّةُ الدَولَةِ المَأمولِ يُعليها

You see kings standing around its owner,

You see kings standing around its owner

And ʿIddat al-Dawla, in whom hopes are placed, raises it high.

And the country's hoped for elite extol it
