Toward you, after they had roamed the earth awhile,

We turned the white camels’ necks, with the caravan coming as a delegation.

So renew the generosity you have accustomed us to,

For the best of a man’s traits is what he has made customary.

And give us more—God will give you more, O most generous of humankind.

For he who gains in dominion is greater still in bounty.

And giving again can only be more praiseworthy; and when it comes

To Ahmad from Ahmad, it is more praiseworthy still.
