لو لم يَرَ في النّاظرِ لي مَبْسِمَهُ

لو لم يَرَ في النّاظرِ لي مَبْسِمَهُ

ما كان يَعِنُّ له أنْ يَلْثِمَهُ

ما كان يَعِنُّ له أنْ يَلْثِمَهُ

Had he not seen his smiling mouth in the pupil of my eye,

It would not have occurred to him to kiss it.

لا يعتقِدُ العاشقُ أنْ يُكرِمَهُ

لا يعتقِدُ العاشقُ أنْ يُكرِمَهُ

ما آثرَ بالقُبلةِ إلاّ فَمَهُ

ما آثرَ بالقُبلةِ إلاّ فَمَهُ

The lover does not believe that he is honoring him;

He favored only his own mouth with the kiss.
