    Your brother is the full moon, O sphere of lofty honors,

    And the light of glory, O garden of perfection.

    وَأَنتَ البَحر وَهُوَ مِن اللآلي

    And your palm is the cloud, and he is rain;

    And you are the sea, and he is one of its pearls.

    And your being is an eye among the bodies of excellence,

    And he is its light in every circumstance.

    O two sons of that noble chief, for whom lives are offered,

    Through generosity you two have won the servitude of men.

    So be as you both wish, and endure

    In your glory through the passing nights.

    It lends light to the gazelle of the horizons—

    Praise of you both—and musk to the gazelle.

    وَوَصف سِواكُما غَيث الخَيال

    In describing you both, I compose poetry in earnest;

    And describing anyone else is the rain of imagination.
