The mirror tells me, “It is not fitting
The mirror tells me it's not proper
for someone like you to love,” but my heart denies it.
For one like you to yearn while my heart lies

وَقَلبيand my heart بِهِthrough it أَبديI reveal (reading أُبدي) الصَبابةardent longing تَلعبplays
So tell me: which of the two’s words should I believe?
So which of you speaks truthfully to me
And through my heart I reveal longing at play.
While my heart plays eternal foolishness
