Rise, behold the cup, and sip, O friend, from what it holds.
Arise and take the cup and sip the draft therein,

Of wine that quickens life within, sip deep therein,

And whoever shuns you in your world—rise and meet him.
Give freely unto him who spurns thy love and care,
And leave behind your scant patience, and take its full measure as your companion.
Forswear thy patience and forbear, make sweet with him,
