O my two masters, I would ransom you both with my life's blood.

As two moons, the spheres of glory reveal you both.

Without being bidden, grace our quarters,

for our gathering place is none but yours.

Many a delegation sought it, and green grew

its hopes when your hands rained down.

If I find no pearls save to scatter them upon

your path, then I offer you both my poems.

And may you both remain two basil plants in a garden,

a planting of glory that came from your two grandfathers.
