My garden dried up from calamities, but
My garden has withered from adversities, but
now it has become fruitful through your gifts.
It has now become fruitful from your gifts

ت فَأَحييتهُ بِبَعض التفاتك
My renown, once among the most praiseworthy, had died—
My remembrance was from Ahmad’s remembrance as if it had died
and you revived it with a little of your regard.
You revived it with some of your attention

My good deeds were regarded as misdeeds;
My good deeds used to see my bad deeds
then they were transformed—and that is one of your good deeds.
So they changed, and that is from your good deeds

Ibn ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz had an age now past,
For Ibn Abd al-Aziz, it is time you spend
and that age is counted among your own.
And it is a time that counts among your times

If the mirror held you, O Unique One
I would see everyone in your mirror.
I would have seen everyone in your mirror

Every limb of mine is eager to praise you,
Every part of me is inclined to praise you
enthralled by the beauty of recounting your qualities.
Longingly inspired by the good mention of your attributes

My ear hears of your father, al-Ḥusām—the keen sword—
With your father Al-Husam my ears hear
and I seem to see him in your displays of might.
As if I see him among your conquests
