إن رُمت تُبصر فالِحاً مِن فالحِ

يَمم جَناب أَبي المَواهب صالح

يَمم جَناب أَبي المَواهب صالح

If you wish to behold a successful man born of a successful man,

Seek the presence of Abu al-Mawahib Salih.

فَهُوَ الأَجل اِبن الأَجل وَمَن لَهُ

فَهُوَ الأَجل اِبن الأَجل وَمَن لَهُ

في العالَمين ثَناً كَمسك فائح

في العالَمين ثَناً كَمسك فائح

For he is the noblest, son of the noblest, and one who has

Praise throughout the worlds like fragrant musk,

وَسَريرة قَد أَلبَستُهُ فَضائِلاً

وَسَريرة قَد أَلبَستُهُ فَضائِلاً

لَم يَحصِها أَبَداً لِسان المادح

لَم يَحصِها أَبَداً لِسان المادح

And an inward nature; I have clothed him in virtues

That no praiser's tongue has ever counted.

غَيري يُطيل المَدح فيهِ مطنباً

غَيري يُطيل المَدح فيهِ مطنباً

وَاللَيث لَيسَ زَئيرهُ كَالنابح

وَاللَيث لَيسَ زَئيرهُ كَالنابح

Others prolong their praise of him, elaborating at length;

But the lion's roar is not like a dog's bark.
