أَقول إِذا أَبصَرت وَجه عَواذِلي

أَقول إِذا أَبصَرت وَجه عَواذِلي

هَنيئاً لِمَن سمّى وَضَحى وَعيّدا

هَنيئاً لِمَن سمّى وَضَحى وَعيّدا

I say, when I behold the faces of my reproachers:

Joy to whoever invoked God's name, offered sacrifice, and celebrated Eid!

وَإِن بت مَحزون الفُؤاد مِن النَوى

وَإِن بت مَحزون الفُؤاد مِن النَوى

لِكُل امرءٍ مِن دَهرِهِ ما تَعَوَّدا

لِكُل امرءٍ مِن دَهرِهِ ما تَعَوَّدا

And though I spend the night heartsick from separation,

Each man receives from life what he has grown accustomed to.
