وَلَم تَرَ شَيئاً مِن حَميد خِصال
And a blind one that never once inclined toward goodness,
Blindness has never inclined to good, not once,
And never saw any praiseworthy qualities:
Nor seen any praiseworthy trait.

It is the soul—would that neither it nor its action had ever existed—
It is the soul that did not exist, nor did its deeds,
Fiercer and more calamitous than the striking of arrows.
More painful and grievous than arrows falling.

May God heal my inner depths of its harm,
May God cure my conscience of its harm
And distance me from it, toward a better state.
And distance me from it to a better state.
