فَإِن تَصلي أَصِلكِ وَإِن تَبيني

فَإِن تَصلي أَصِلكِ وَإِن تَبيني

بِصُرمِكِ قَبلَ وَصلِكِ لا أُبالي

بِصُرمِكِ قَبلَ وَصلِكِ لا أُبالي

So if you keep ties with me, I keep ties with you; and if you part,

If you keep your ties with me or break them off

Your breaking with me before drawing close does not trouble me.

I care not if you shun me before we unite

وَلا أُلفى كَمَن إِن سيمَ صَرماً

وَلا أُلفى كَمَن إِن سيمَ صَرماً

تَعَرَّضَ كَي يُرَدَّ إِلى الوِصالِ

تَعَرَّضَ كَي يُرَدَّ إِلى الوِصالِ

Nor am I found like one who, if subjected to estrangement,

Unlike one who if the tie is loosened a bit

Puts himself forward to be restored to union.

Tries to get it together and reunite

وَإِنّي لِلمَوَدَّةِ ذو حِفاظٍ

وَإِنّي لِلمَوَدَّةِ ذو حِفاظٍ

أُواصِلُ مَن يَهشُّ إِلى وِصالي

أُواصِلُ مَن يَهشُّ إِلى وِصالي

And indeed, I am steadfast in affection;

I am true to those who are true to our love

I maintain ties with whoever eagerly welcomes union with me.

I join those who long for our union

وَأَقطَعُ حَبلَ ذي مَلَقٍ كَذوبٍ

وَأَقطَعُ حَبلَ ذي مَلَقٍ كَذوبٍ

سَريعٍ في الخُطوبِ إِلى انتِقالِ

سَريعٍ في الخُطوبِ إِلى انتِقالِ

And I sever the cord of a deceitful flatterer,

And I cut ties with the insincere and false

Quick to turn away in times of trouble.

Who are quick to move on to another liaison
