    I quaff from her a thirst-quenching draught,

Then I sober up, yet have not quenched my burning thirst.

How much has intervened before the tryst with Umm Jamil—

Delay in fulfilling a need, and long waiting!

And the crow’s cry: “Go, then hasten!

You will win bounty and acceptance.”
