Say to Sadid al-Din: O noble one,

who has no peer in his generosity.

Your shade is ample, and your bounty to me

is pure; your pasture is lush and fertile.

O liberator of the captive, O refuge of the

wrongdoer, O treasure of the needy stranger!

Your bough, O brightener of bounty's face,

is green at the edges and fresh for visiting delegations.

O you whose judgment offers guidance

in every crisis, and whose appearance is wondrous!

O sea of generosity that has no shore,

every supplicant has a share in its gifts.

And I have two claims—I must have them both—

upon you; may you ever answer a supplicant.

    وآخر جاهك عند الربيب

    One is your wealth, the thing I long for;

the other, your influence with al-Rabib.

So live in bliss; may you ever be blessed,

walking proudly in praise's fresh mantle.
