O Lord, do not make a man of

hope dependent on anyone but al-Muwaffaq.

Whose only hope is in the unsuccessful,

فهو الأبي ومن على ال

فهو الأبي ومن على ال

عافي من الآباء أشفق

عافي من الآباء أشفق

For he is noble-spirited, and one who, toward the

Need anyone but his father, who is most merciful

petitioner, is more compassionate than fathers.

Of fathers, and has pity on him.

لو كنت يوما واجدا

من في ندق كفيه يعرق

من في ندق كفيه يعرق

If one day I could find

If I were ever in a position

someone who sweats in the [unclear word] of his palms,

To place in the palms of my hands the sweat

يعطي عطاءك كنت أس

يعطي عطاءك كنت أس

أله ولكن ليس يلحق

أله ولكن ليس يلحق

giving as you give, I would ask

Of one who gives like You give, I would ask him,

him—but he cannot match you.

But no one can match Your giving.
