أبا المعالي لا زلت في نعم

أبا المعالي لا زلت في نعم

عليك طول الزمان ممتدَّه

عليك طول الزمان ممتدَّه

O Abu al-Ma‘ali, may you always enjoy blessings,

O virtuous one, I remain in grace

Lasting upon you throughout all time.

Upon you all time extended

نفسي بعد الإله في مرضي

نفسي بعد الإله في مرضي

منك بحسن التدبير مشتدَّه

منك بحسن التدبير مشتدَّه

My soul, after God, in my illness,

My soul after God in my pleasure

Grows strong through your skillful care.

From you in good governance strengthened

وإن توانيت بي غدوت غدا

وإن توانيت بي غدوت غدا

من بعض قتلى القتيل قر عنده

من بعض قتلى القتيل قر عنده

And if you neglect me, tomorrow I shall be

And if you wavered from me I became tomorrow

Among the slain of the slain man, resting beside him.

Among some of the slain resting with him
