مؤتمن الدين أبق وأسمع ثناء

يزري على الدر بترصيفِهِ

يزري على الدر بترصيفِهِ

Mu'taman al-Din, live on and hear praise

O faithful trustee, stay and listen to praise

whose arrangement puts pearls to shame.

That flows over pearls in its arranging

يا واحد الفضل الذي لم يزل

يا واحد الفضل الذي لم يزل

يعرف في الناس بمعروفه

يعرف في الناس بمعروفه

O peerless in excellence, who has never ceased

O singular in kindness, who has not ceased

to be known among people for his kindness.

To be known among people for his benevolence

التبن قد جاء ولم يبق لي

التبن قد جاء ولم يبق لي

ما أتمنى غير تصحيفه

ما أتمنى غير تصحيفه

The straw has already arrived, and nothing remains for me

The straw has come, and nothing remains for me

to wish for but a change in its lettering.

That I wish for apart from its gathering

فاجمع به شمل الجواد الذي

فاجمع به شمل الجواد الذي

يرتع من جدواك في ريفه

يرتع من جدواك في ريفه

So with it, set right the affairs of the steed that

So unite through it the fellowship of the generous one

grazes on your bounty in its lush pasture.

Who grazes on your meadows in his pasture

وأسلم سعيدا ما شكا عاشق

وأسلم سعيدا ما شكا عاشق

من عاذل لجّ بتعنيفهِ

من عاذل لجّ بتعنيفهِ

And may you live safe and happy as long as a lover complains

And deliver safe and sound whoever a lover complained of

of a reproacher who stubbornly persists in rebuking him.

From a blamer who was harsh in his rebuke
