حاشا كريم الدين يبدو له

من الأيادي وهو أبداها

من الأيادي وهو أبداها

Far be it from Karim al-Din to reconsider

Far from the generous one, it appears to him

the favors he himself first bestowed.

From the hands while he initiated them

قولوا له بمالك من بعد ما

قولوا له بمالك من بعد ما

منحتني مالك والجاها

منحتني مالك والجاها

Tell him: “By your wealth, after

Tell him after what you have given me

you granted me your wealth and rank,

You have given me your possessions and status

تركتني قطعه لحم أرى

تركتني قطعه لحم أرى

قطعه لحم أثمناها

قطعه لحم أثمناها

you left me a piece of flesh; I see

You have left me a piece of meat I see

a piece of meat that we have valued.

A piece of meat I valued highly

فنفذ الأغنام واغنم بها

فنفذ الأغنام واغنم بها

مدائحي واستخر الله

مدائحي واستخر الله

So dispatch the sheep, and gain through them

So the sheep ran out and I profited from it

my praises, and seek God’s guidance.”
