  1. البس أخاك على ماكان من خلق

    واحفظ مودته بالغيب ما وصلا

    Accept your brother, whatever his character may be,

    and preserve his affection in his absence, so long as he maintains the bond.

  2. فأطول الناس غما من يريد أخا

    ذا خله لا يرى في وده خللا

    For the longest-grieving of people is he who seeks a brother

    of such character that he sees no flaw in his affection.
