وطالع السعد لاذا

وطالع السعد لاذا

Saʿd al-Suʿūd shone forth,

Saad al-Saud appeared

And good fortune’s rising star sought refuge.

And the auspicious star rose, so

فقلت يا سعد خبّر

فقلت يا سعد خبّر

عمّا وراءك ماذا

عمّا وراءك ماذا

So I said, “O Saʿd, tell me:

I said: "O Saad, tell

What lies beyond you?”

Of what lies beyond you."

فقال خيراً تراهُ

فقال خيراً تراهُ

واسمع لقوليَ هذا

واسمع لقوليَ هذا

So he said, “You will see good things,

He said: "Good you shall see

And listen to these words of mine.”

And hear my words, this:
