يا ناظِرا أسبلْ بخدّكَ عَبرَةً

يا ناظِرا أسبلْ بخدّكَ عَبرَةً

وَانثُرْ على هذا الجَنَابِ نظامَهَا

وَانثُرْ على هذا الجَنَابِ نظامَهَا

O beholder, let a tear fall down your cheek,

O you who look, let your cheeks flow with tears

And scatter its string of pearls upon this precinct.

And scatter over this tomb its construction

هذا ضريحٌ قد حوَى منْ حَصّلَتْ

هذا ضريحٌ قد حوَى منْ حَصّلَتْ

بالقول وَالفعلِ الجمِيلِ مَرَامَهَا

بالقول وَالفعلِ الجمِيلِ مَرَامَهَا

This is a tomb that holds one who attained

This is a shrine that contained one who achieved

Her aim through speech and noble deeds.

Through word and good deed her aspirations

عَلمَتْ بأنَّ الجارَ يحمي جارهُ

عَلمَتْ بأنَّ الجارَ يحمي جارهُ

فتشبثتْ بِالشاذُليّ إمامهَا

فتشبثتْ بِالشاذُليّ إمامهَا

She knew that a neighbor protects his neighbor,

She knew that a neighbor shields a neighbor

So she held fast to al-Shadhili, her imam.

So she held fast to Al-Shadhili her imam

وَلِحبها حوز السعادةِ خَيمَتْ

وَلِحبها حوز السعادةِ خَيمَتْ

بين ابن عرفةَ وَالشرِيفِ خِيامَهَا

بين ابن عرفةَ وَالشرِيفِ خِيامَهَا

And, longing to attain happiness, she pitched

And for her love she pitched felicity’s tent

Her tents between Ibn Arafa and al-Sharif.

Between Ibn Arafa and Al-Sharif Khayyam

فَاسترحمِ المولى لَهَا فَلَطَالَمَا

فَاسترحمِ المولى لَهَا فَلَطَالَمَا

رَحمتْ وَمدَّتْ للوَرَى إكْرَامَهَا

رَحمتْ وَمدَّتْ للوَرَى إكْرَامَهَا

So ask the Lord to have mercy on her, for so often

So pray to the Master for mercy upon her, for long

She showed mercy and extended her generosity to humankind.

Did she have mercy and extend to mankind her bounty

تَارِيخُهَا قَبلَ الالهُ صَنِيعَهَا

تَارِيخُهَا قَبلَ الالهُ صَنِيعَهَا

وَالسعدُ دامَ وَرَاءَهَا وَأمَامَهَا

وَالسعدُ دامَ وَرَاءَهَا وَأمَامَهَا

Her chronogram: May God accept her good work,

Her date, may God accept her work

And may good fortune endure behind her and before her.

And Saad remain behind and before her
