زَيْنُ صُدُورِ المَحْفَلِ

زَيْنُ صُدُورِ المَحْفَلِ

بَنو حُسَينِ بْنِ عَلِي

بَنو حُسَينِ بْنِ عَلِي

Adorning the foremost seats of the assembly

The adornment of the gathering halls

Are the sons of Husayn ibn Ali.

The sons of Hussein son of Ali

أهلُ الوَفَاءِ وَالنُّهَى

أهلُ الوَفَاءِ وَالنُّهَى

مِنَ الطِّرَازِ الأولِ

مِنَ الطِّرَازِ الأولِ

People of fidelity and sound judgment,

The people of loyalty and prohibition

Of the foremost rank.

Of the finest class

فِي مُلكِهِمْ جَلاَلَةٌ

فِي مُلكِهِمْ جَلاَلَةٌ

وَكَونُهُ لَهُمْ جَلِي

وَكَونُهُ لَهُمْ جَلِي

There is majesty in their rule,

In their kingdom is majesty

And that it is theirs is clear.

And it being for them manifest

سِيرَتُهُمْ حَمِيدَةٌ

سِيرَتُهُمْ حَمِيدَةٌ

قَامَتْ بِهَديِ الرُّسُلِ

قَامَتْ بِهَديِ الرُّسُلِ

Their conduct is praiseworthy,

Their conduct is praiseworthy

Founded on the guidance of the messengers,

It was established by the guidance of the Messengers

حَتى غَدَتْ دَولَتُهُمْ

حَتى غَدَتْ دَولَتُهُمْ

تُغْبَطُ بَينَ الدُّولِ

تُغْبَطُ بَينَ الدُّولِ

So that their realm became

Until their state became

Envied among realms.

Envied among the states

العَفْوُ وَالحِلْمُ لَهُمْ

العَفْوُ وَالحِلْمُ لَهُمْ

طَبِيعَةٌ لَمْ تَزَلِ

طَبِيعَةٌ لَمْ تَزَلِ

Pardon and forbearance are their

Clemency and forbearance are for them

Nature, which has ever endured.

A nature that has not ceased

قَدْ وَرِثُوهَا خَلَفاً

قَدْ وَرِثُوهَا خَلَفاً

عَنْ سَلَفٍ مفَضلِ

عَنْ سَلَفٍ مفَضلِ

They have inherited it as successors

They inherited it successively

From a distinguished forebear.

From a predecessor with merit

لاَ يَكْبُر الذَّنْبُ لَهُمْ

لاَ يَكْبُر الذَّنْبُ لَهُمْ

وَلَو غَدَا كَالجَبَلِ

وَلَو غَدَا كَالجَبَلِ

No sin is too great for them,

No sin is too big for them

Even if it becomes like a mountain.

Even if it becomes like a mountain

بَلْ رُبَّمَا عَدُّوا الذي

بَلْ رُبَّمَا عَدُّوا الذي

أذْنَبَ مِثلَ المُفْضَلِ

أذْنَبَ مِثلَ المُفْضَلِ

Rather, they sometimes regard the one

But sometimes they count the one who

Who sinned as equal to the favored one.

Sinned like the esteemed one

وَأبغَضُ الناسِ لَهُمْ

وَأبغَضُ الناسِ لَهُمْ

وَاشٍ أتَى بِالخَلَلِ

وَاشٍ أتَى بِالخَلَلِ

And the person they detest most

And the most hated of people to them

Is a tale-bearer who brings discord.

Is a slanderer who came with defect

عَسَاهُمُ أنْ يَأخُذوا

عَسَاهُمُ أنْ يَأخُذوا

فِي خِطَّتِي بِالأمثَلِ

فِي خِطَّتِي بِالأمثَلِ

May they adopt

May they take

The best course concerning my position,

In my path with examples

وَيَهَبُوا إسَاءتِي

وَيَهَبُوا إسَاءتِي

لِعَفوِهِمْ عَنْ زَلَلِي

لِعَفوِهِمْ عَنْ زَلَلِي

And consign my wrongdoing

And pardon my wrongdoing

To their pardon of my missteps.

By their forgiving my lapses

فَإنَّني مُعْتَرِفٌ

فَإنَّني مُعْتَرِفٌ

بِمَا جَنَتْهُ أنْمُلِي

بِمَا جَنَتْهُ أنْمُلِي

For I confess

For I admit

To what my fingertips have wrought.

What my fingers have harvested

وَفَضْلهمْ أوسَعُ مِنْ

وَفَضْلهمْ أوسَعُ مِنْ

جِنَايَتي وَخَطَلِي

جِنَايَتي وَخَطَلِي

And their bounty is vaster than

And their merit is more expansive than

My offense and my foolish speech.

My crime and error

فَاللهُ يُبقِيهِمْ كَمَا

فَاللهُ يُبقِيهِمْ كَمَا

شَاءُوا بِنَيلِ الأمَلِ

شَاءُوا بِنَيلِ الأمَلِ

So may God preserve them as

So may God maintain them as

They wish, with their hopes fulfilled.

They have wished in attaining hope
