يسعىstrive أناسٌsome people ويشقىand suffer آخرونothers بهمbecause of them
يسعى أناسٌ ويشقى آخرون بهم
ويسعدand makes happy اللّهGod أقواماًsome people بأقوامthrough other people
ويسعد اللّه أقواماً بأقوام
Some people strive, while others suffer because of them;
and God makes some people happy through others.
وليسand is not رزقthe livelihood الفتىof the young man منfrom حسنthe excellence of حيلتهhis resourcefulness
وليس رزق الفتى من حسن حيلته
لكنbut حدودfixed bounds وأرزاقand livelihoods بأقسامin allotted shares
لكن حدود وأرزاق بأقسام
A young man's livelihood does not come from his skillful planning,
but there are fixed bounds and livelihoods allotted in shares.
كالصيدlike game يحرَمهis denied it الراميthe archer المجيدthe skilled وقدthough he may
كالصيد يحرَمه الرامي المجيد وقد
يرميshoot ويرزقهand is granted it منone who ليسis not بالراميan archer
يرمي ويرزقه من ليس بالرامي
Like game denied to the skilled archer, though he may
shoot, while one who is no archer is granted it.
