And when she saw that between me and her had come
When she saw that enemies and villains from the neighborhood
enemies and rabble of the tribe, present there,
Had come between us, separating her from me,

she turned a neck no short, stout woman could turn—
She bowed her neck, which no delicate, slender-necked gazelle
one thick of arm—nor a stocky woman with flesh packed tight.
Had ever bent, neither the fleshy-necked ostrich hen.
