قُوْمِي إذا شئتِ فَهَنّيني

قُوْمِي إذا شئتِ فَهَنّيني

قد زُفّتِ الدُّنيا إلى الدين

قد زُفّتِ الدُّنيا إلى الدين

Rise, if you wish, and congratulate me.

My people, if you wish, then let me be happy,

The world has been brought as a bride to faith.

For the world has come close to ruin.

وَخُذْ حديثي عنْ بلوغِ المنى

وَخُذْ حديثي عنْ بلوغِ المنى

ما بينَ مَضْنونٍ وَمَظْنُونِ

ما بينَ مَضْنونٍ وَمَظْنُونِ

And take my account of attaining wishes,

And hear my words about attaining wishes,

Between what is jealously guarded and what is conjectured.

Between what is certain and what is presumed.

بُشْرايَ بُشْرايَ وَهضنّيني

بُشْرايَ بُشْرايَ وَهضنّيني

أنتِ بمنٍّ غيرِ ممنون

أنتِ بمنٍّ غيرِ ممنون

My glad tidings! My glad tidings! And embrace me (reading uncertain).

Give me good news, give me good news and cheer me up,

You are endowed with a bounty that never ends.

You are a blessing, not a burden.
