Sol 6.1

  1. الصلب يخلط بالرطوبة مدة

    فيصير رطباً سائلاً طيارا

    The solid is mixed with moisture for a time,

    and becomes moist, fluid, volatile.

  2. والرطب يخلط بالصلابة مدة

    فيصير صلباً يشبه الأحجارا

    And the moist is mixed with solidity for a time,

    and becomes solid, resembling stones.

  3. والصبغ روح بالحصان تولدت

    وتعودت وسط الجحيم قرارا

    And the tincture is a spirit that was born in the horse

    and grew accustomed to dwelling amid hellfire.

  4. والروح في التركيب غاضت فاغتدت

    أجساده روحاً يروم مطارا

    And the spirit sank into the compound, so that

    its bodies became a spirit seeking flight.

  5. وبهذه الأجساد لما جن في ال

    أجساد قد صار الثخين نضارا

    And through these bodies, once it lay hidden in the

    bodies, the dense substance became pure gold.

  6. فإذا البخارات ارتقت في رأسها

    عكست لتنزل لا تطيق قرارا

    Then, when the vapors rose to its head,

    they were turned back to descend, unable to remain at rest.

  7. كالأرض عفّنها المياه وصعّدت

    منها السخونة في الهواء بخارا

    As with the earth: waters made it putrid, and

    heat sent vapor from it up into the air,

  8. حتى إذا بلغ البخارات المدى

    نزلت وصارت ديمة مدرارا

    until, when the vapors reached their limit,

    they descended and became a steady, abundant rain.

  9. وتغلغلت في الأرض وهي جدية

    فاستخرجت من قعرها الأزهارا

    And it seeped deep into the earth, in earnest,

    and so drew flowers forth from its depths.

  10. فلذاك وسعنا الأداة وهكذا

    تبني العوالم مركزا وقرارا

    For that reason we widened the apparatus; and thus

    the worlds build a center and a resting place.

  11. فافطن لحكمتنا التي ضربت لها ال

    أمثال واستنبط بها الأسرارا

    So discern our wisdom, for which the

    parables were set forth, and through it draw out the secrets.

  12. واستبقِ بالكتمان ملكك إنه ال

    الملك الذي قد أوتي الأبرارا

    And preserve your dominion through secrecy: it is the

    dominion that has been bestowed upon the righteous.
