وتَهْتِكِ السِتْرَ عن محجوبِ أسرارِ

Provoke your friend, and you will uncover his inner thoughts,

and tear the veil from concealed secrets.

فالعودُ يُنْبِيكَ عن مكنونِ باطنهِ

فالعودُ يُنْبِيكَ عن مكنونِ باطنهِ

دُخَانُهُ حين تُلْقِيهِ على النَّارِ

For what lies hidden within the wood is revealed to you
