في الحل والعقد حار الناس كلهم

في الحل والعقد حار الناس كلهم

ومنهما النشء دورا دائما أبدا

In dissolution and coagulation, all people are bewildered.

And from both comes generation, in an unceasing, everlasting cycle.

وما تحلل فينا واستحال دماً

وما تحلل فينا واستحال دماً

من الغذاء ففي أجسادنا انعقدا

من الغذاء ففي أجسادنا انعقدا

And whatever dissolves within us and turns to blood

From food then coagulates within our bodies.

وما تروّح في تحليله جسد

وما تروّح في تحليله جسد

إلا تجسّد روح منه فاتحدا

إلا تجسّد روح منه فاتحدا

And no body becomes spirit through its dissolution

Without a spirit from it becoming embodied; then they unite.

والنبت يغذوه حرّ ليّن وندى

والنبت يغذوه حرّ ليّن وندى

حلّ الثرى فارتقى في جسمه صعدا

حلّ الثرى فارتقى في جسمه صعدا

And the plant is nourished by gentle heat and dew,

Which dissolve the soil, so it rises upward within its body.
