تفرَّدَ اللّهُ بالتقدير ما اشتركتْ

تفرَّدَ اللّهُ بالتقدير ما اشتركتْ

فيه نجومٌ ولا شمسٌ ولا قمرُ

فيه نجومٌ ولا شمسٌ ولا قمرُ

God alone ordains; none have taken part

God alone controls destiny, not any stars or sun or moon.

in it—not stars, nor sun, nor moon.

So leave to God what troubles you,

فكِلْ إِلى اللّه ما أعياكَ مطلَبُهُ

فكِلْ إِلى اللّه ما أعياكَ مطلَبُهُ

فسوفَ يأتي بما لا تأمُلُ القَدَرُ

فسوفَ يأتي بما لا تأمُلُ القَدَرُ

So entrust to God what has wearied you in its pursuit;

What He wills shall come, beyond what fate foretells.

then fate will bring what you do not expect.

Good and ill both flow from Him, as He desires -

فالخيرُ والشرُّ منه جاريانِ على

فالخيرُ والشرُّ منه جاريانِ على

ما شاء لا حيلةٌ تُغْنِي ولا حَذَرُ

ما شاء لا حيلةٌ تُغْنِي ولا حَذَرُ

For good and evil both flow from Him according to

No cunning nor caution can help or ward them off.

what He wills; no stratagem avails, nor any caution.
