تاللّهِ ما استحسنَتْ من بعدِ فُرقَتِكُمْ

تاللّهِ ما استحسنَتْ من بعدِ فُرقَتِكُمْ

عيني سِواكم ولا استمتعتُ بالنَّظَرِ

عيني سِواكم ولا استمتعتُ بالنَّظَرِ

By God, since parting from you, nothing has seemed beautiful

By God, since we parted, my eyes delight in none but you,

to my eye but you, nor have I delighted in looking.

Nor have I found joy in any sight but yours.

إنْ كان في الأرضِ شيءٌ بعدكم حَسنٌ

إنْ كان في الأرضِ شيءٌ بعدكم حَسنٌ

فإنَّ حبَّكُمُ غَطَّى على بَصَري

فإنَّ حبَّكُمُ غَطَّى على بَصَري

If anything on earth is beautiful in your absence,

If after you there remains on earth anything beautiful,

then my love for you has veiled my sight.

My love for you has blinded me to it.
