في لَجِّ بَحرِ الغَرامِ أَلقاني
Tell him whose cheek’s crimson rose
Say to him whose cheek is reddened
cast me into the depths of the sea of love:
By the wine of passion's sea cast me

عَن ثَغرِ الأَنامِ أَلهاني
What I tasted from your mouth—your sweet saliva—
I attained not from your soft lips
has distracted me from the mouths of all mankind.
More enrapturing than people's lips enthralled me
