فَمَنSo whoever كانَwould لاnot يَأتيكَcome to you إِلّاexcept لِحاجَةٍfor a need
فَمَن كانَ لا يَأتيكَ إِلّا لِحاجَةٍ
يَروحُgoes in the evening لَهاfor it حَتّىuntil تُقَضّىit is fulfilled وَيَغتَديand goes in the morning
يَروحُ لَها حَتّى تُقَضّى وَيَغتَدي
Whoever comes to you only for a need
So one who comes to you only when he needs something,
goes for it evening and morning until it is fulfilled;
He'll keep coming to you until his needs are met, then he is done with you.
فَإِنّيyet indeed I لَآتيكُمsurely come to you all تَشَكُّرَin gratitude for ماwhat مَضىhas passed
فَإِنّي لَآتيكُم تَشَكُّرَ ما مَضى
مِنَof البِرِّkindness وَاِستيحابَand seeking gifts ماwhat كانَwill be فيin غَدٍtomorrow
مِنَ البِرِّ وَاِستيحابَ ما كانَ في غَدٍ
yet I surely come to you all in gratitude for past
As for me, I come to thank you for your past kindness,
kindness, and to seek the gifts of tomorrow.
And to ask you to renew it in days to come.
